Geoff Boyd is a research consultant providing analytical services to Consilium Investment Management, LLC’s Sophus Capital strategies. Prior to joining the joining the Sophus Capital team at Consilium, Geoff was an emerging markets analyst at Victory Capital since 2017. Prior to joining Victory Capital, Geoff was the regional head of automotive and steel research at CLSA, a sell-side brokerage with a strong following in Asia. He worked at CLSA for 16 years, which included 5 years in Korea, where he focused on Korean companies. In the inaugural Thomson-Extel survey of fund managers in 2006 he was ranked the #1 analyst across all sectors in Asia and earned other awards n the following decade. Prior to CLSA, he held a similar role at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, and prior to that was at JP Morgan. He is a Chartered Accountant from Canada (Ernst & Young) and has an HBA from Western (London, Canada).
Tammy Belshaw is a research consultant providing analytical services to Consilium Investment Management, LLC’s Sophus Capital strategies. Prior to joining the Sophus Capital team at Consilium, Tammy was the Head of Research on the Emerging Markets team at Victory Capital and Principal Global Investors. Prior to that, Tammy was a research analyst at Citigroup Asset Management. Tammy’s background also includes investment consultant and equity manager research positions with Watson Wyatt. Tammy received a BA and MA from Cambridge University (UK) in Economics. Tammy is a CFA Charterholder.
Peter Luo is a research consultant providing analytical services to Consilium Investment Management, LLC’s Sophus Capital strategies. Prior to joining Sophus Capital, Peter was a portfolio manager and analyst on the Greater China Equities team at Principal Global Investors. Prior to that, Peter was Chief Investment Officer and portfolio manager at Ice Lake Investments, a private onshore fund manager in China. Before Ice Lake Investments, Peter worked at Victory Capital, and previous to that, Principal Global investors, specializing in both fundamental and quantitative analysis. Peter received an MBA and a Master of Science from the University of Iowa, as well as a bachelor’s degree from Zhongshan University in China. Peter is a CFA Charterholder. He has additional language skills in Mandarin and Cantonese.
Maria Freund is a Portfolio Manager at Consilium Investment Management, LLC, where she manages the firm’s Sophus Capital emerging markets strategies. Prior to joining Consilium, Maria was a portfolio manager and analyst on the Emerging Markets team at Victory Capital and Principal Global Investors. Prior to that, Maria was an analyst for the International Developed Team at Principal Global Investors, having joined the firm in 2003. Maria received a BA from Loras College in finance and international business with a minor in Math, and an MBA from the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa. Maria is a CFA Charterholder. She also has additional language skills in Spanish.
Michael Reynal is Chief Investment Officer at Consilium Investment Management, LLC, where he leads the firm’s Sophus Capital emerging markets strategies. Prior to joining Consilium, Michael led the Emerging Markets Team at Principal Global Investors, RS Investments, and Victory Capital Management. Michael originally built the EM team and developed the process at PGI in 2001. The core of the team and process have remained stable since then. The team left PGI to join RS Investments in 2012. RS Investments was later acquired by Victory Capital in 2016. The team was renamed Sophus Capital while at Victory Capital. In 2025, the Victory-owned Sophus team left to form Sophus Capital LLC. Prior to joining Principal in 2001, Michael was at Wafra Investment Advisory Group Inc. in New York. Michael also spent four years with Paribas Capital Markets in New York in international equities and three years with Barclays de Zoete Wedd in London focusing on Latin American equities. He received a BA in history from Middlebury College, an MA in history from the University of Cambridge, and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. He also has additional language skills in Spanish, French, and German.
